Apple Display Connector -> VGA

Since Apple has gone totally LCD, they've also absolutely embraced their new Apple Display Connector (ADC) standard over standard VGA (used by all PCs and more than 50% of the existing Mac user base). I know at first there was quite an outcry when Apple introduced this standard. There was a lot of talk about whether anyone would produce an ADC to VGA adapter. I'm left with four questions:

1) Did anyone ever make such an adapter?

2) Do they seriously degrade the image quality of these new monitors?

3) How much are they?

4) Where can I get one?

Thanks for any input.

I just took a quick roundabout at the Apple Store (just to make sure) and they're only selling flat panel displays.

Yes, they don't sell CRTs anymore.
But that does not mean that you won't be able to connect a new G4 to a VGA monitor. There is still a VGA out on these Macs.
