I have a G4 dual 800, with OS 10.4.5 and latest version 2.2 of ARD.
I have two machines on internal network, which observe and control without any trouble after I upgraded to 10.3.
I am trying to access a G5 dual 2ghz, over the internet, also running 10.4.5, I have updated the client using ARD from my machine, and enabled the control panel for full access on the G5.
However, despite being able to chat, upgrade files and share my own screen, I cannot observe or control the G5, I just get the message:
"connection failed to G5"
The G5 is connect via a hub to a router. The g5 is setup as a dmz host on the router.
I can access the G5's hard disks via appleshare without any trouble, and I have also tranfered files via ARD.
Why am I unable to control or view the screen of the G5 ?
Can anyone help, it seems this is quite a widespread problem, after looking in other forums.
thanks,
