Apple Remote Desktop and Security Update Query

Hello

I did try and search but I keep getting network errors and 404s when I search for threads.

Basically I have a couple of quick questions that I need to find answers for pretty quickly.

Firstly, does anyone know how to find out what was the latest security update applied to a client machine, what its security level is? I've looked around and got nowhere so far...

Secondly (if I can't get the answer to the above question) if I apply, say, the 10.3.9 security updates 005, 006, 007, 008 to a group of client machines, and some of them already have all or some of these updates, what will happen?
What happens when you try and apply a security update that you already have? Can it do any damage?
I'm worried that if I try and apply those four to a machine and say it already has 005 and 006, will it re-install them, or not bother, and will it then continue to install 007 and 008 or just hang?

Any pointers would be really appreciated, for some reason I can't currently post to the ARD mailing list.

Mac OS X stores "recepits" for installed software packages in /Library/Receipts. You can take a look in there (don't delete anything or move anything, though as it will cause problems) to see which security updates have been installed.

If you try and install a security update over itself, it'll either compain that it's already installed, or tell you that a newer update has been installed and that it cannot continue most likely.

To be on the safe side, check the Receipts folder before you install.
