Apple sanctions custom ringtones through GarageBand

I didn't see this coming -- with the new GarageBand update, you can now send songs to iPhone as a ringtone. It requires firmware version 1.1.2, so those using jailbroken 1.1.1 iPhones can't do this just yet, but great to see Apple doing what we all thought would be possible from day 1.

Interesting that you have to do it through GarageBand rather than iTunes though. I'm thinking this was the only way Apple could get the idea past the record companies. Making it in GarageBand implies that only a user's original compositions would be used.
 
there are many way to make music format to iphone ringtone,but few free
ganrageband is free,but i have to pay for the music tiwce if to use it
if use a third-part one ringtone maker we need to pay more than $10,but we can convert lots of music as my ringtone!
which one is cheaper? i don't know
