The 2nd Quarter Financial Conference Call took place today.

In the Question and Answer session, the following information was provided:

- Regarding Best Buy Pilot. It ran its natural course and its performance is undergoing analysis at this time.
- IBM's PowerPC 970 90nm was the sole constrained supply causing the Xserve G5 delays. This supply is expected to ramp up over this quarter.
- HP iPod to start shipments in Summer. Already shipping iTunes on HP computers.
- Some iTunes albums are priced higher than $9.99, but this is due to higher prices charged by record labels.

First time in 4 years that the majority of the media has not put a negative spin on apple earnings... this is amazing, the most important part of it all is the 5% increase in cpu shipments... beeeeuuuuutifooool. And was I right or what the public didn't care that apple held out almost a year on new products... bit your tongue naysayers cause this is the future of computing not 5x a year updates ala gateway and emachines and all the rest of the fly by nighters... weeeehooo.

Don't be too quick to gloat mi5moav. Of course Apple is not in the same position as Dell. Apple's production is more like an Auto manufacturer than a computer maker. Besides their products are built to quality to start with and are more timeless. Apple has the highest margin in the market with around 27%. They are a different kind of company.

I liked the bit about the possible anouncement nearer the 1st Aniversary of iTMS! iTunes Europe - pleeeeze!

So, I guess we should be down in the doldrums...So, I guess Apple is going to turn their keys in next week to Dell and tell them they've won again. I think these low carb diets have gotten to a lot of peoples heads.
