As you may or may not know, all SoundTrack does is piece together prerecorded music in very clever ways that do not require any intelligence, skill or musical insight whatsoever. You cannot (to my knowledge) use SoundTrack to record your own music, add MIDI files, sync to a sequencer, etc. It's a self-contained loop-player.

It is entirely possible to record your own music. Just plug in a mic and hit the record button and record away. I'm getting a bit of latency with my iMic, but it's nothing that can't be fixed with a bit of nudging. It doesn't have to be canned at all.

Of course, if canned is what you're goin' for, and you want to record original loops, Soundtrack comes with the Soundtrack Loop Utility. It's all terribly easy.
