At 13:00 GMT, the Apple Store was down when I had a look. Someone said there are rumors of iBooks, but, personally, I would have expected new iBooks would get a bigger launch, rather than being sneakily added to the Store. We shall see...

Aha, the "MacBook!" A replacement iBook, it seems...

13.3-inch widescreen display
1280 x 800 resolution
1.83 GHz or 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo
512MB memory (2x256MB SODIMMs)
60 GB or 80 GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive
Combo drive (DVD-ROM, CD-RW) or SuperDrive (DVD±RW, CD-RW)

...available in white or black!

As for prices in the UK, they start at £749 (including VAT) for the basic model (1.83 GHz, 60 GB hard drive, and a CD-RW drive), and then increase to £899 for the next model up (2.0 GHz and a SuperDrive). The black model starts at £1028.99, but has an 80 GB hard drive, in addition to the features of the mid-range MacBook.

The bottom and mid-range versions ship in 3-5 days here, and the black model (top of the range) will take 5-7 days. Bluetooth and Airport Extreme seems to be built-in, and the models use the scrolling trackpad. I also notice the MacBook includes a Firewire 400 port, which is good, as I started to wonder if Apple was dropping Firewire...

I actually like the black one. Reminds me of the old PowerBooks...they did look great in black. :D
