Apple Video (ADC->RCA adaptor) question

I noticed in my local Apple retailer, a plug that I think was called the Apple Display Adaptor.

You plugged one end into the Apple Display Connector, and at the other end of the 10 inch cord is a box with an RCA and S-Video jack.

My question: is this composite RCA, or can I just hook a single band yellow cable from the box to the RCA Video In on my TV?

Secondly, why isn't this posted on the apple web store? It bore the Apple aqua logo as well as being called the "Apple Display Adaptor" (or something else, with the Apple brand name)?

It sold for about $30, which, to me, is practically free when compared to the benefits of being able to watch DVDs on my widescreen TV and not my tiny little 15" monitor! :p
