Appleworks has disappeared from my iMac

Hello all,

First post. Be gentle.

I recently took delivery of a new iMac with the remote control thingy, and running Tiger.

I had previously been working on an iBook G4 running Panther and hit some problems when I tried to migrate all my stuff to the new computer. It wouldn't travel. Seems like the problem has been that the drive on the laptop is on its last legs. However, before concluding this, I had done a clean install on the iMac.

This has resulted in the total disappearance of Appleworks. The computer also offered me a time-limited trial of Word which I wasn't interested in particularly.

Now however, there is no sign of Appleworks or Word but a sales pitch for Pages.

I just want my Appleworks back!

Can anyone help.

The easiest way to get your AppleWorks, is to boot to your iMac's restore disk 1, and choose a custom install, unchecking everything, but going into the bundled applications, and choosing AppleWorks. There will be several foreign language versions - select the one you want!

After you have installed AppleWorks, Delete the Office 2004 Test Drive folder completely, it can cause problems if launched accidentally.
