Appleworks User Dictionary With Workgroup Manager

I am one of the technology resource leaders for our school district. We have 11 buildings with over 3,000 macs. from original bondi blue imac with OS9.2.2 using Macintosh Manager on G4's OSX server 10.2.8 to eMacs and G5's with 10.3.9 connection through Workgroup Manager to xServes with 10.3.9 server with home directories on xRAID's.

This question is related to OSX 10.3.9 clients and Appleworks 6.2.9. in conjunction Workgroup manager for client management and user home directory management.

Our users can set the user dictionary to be stored in home/documents/appleworks user data/dictionary/home user dictionary and it works fine.

However this setting does not stay set when they log out and back in. This causes them to have to reset their user dictionary each time, a workable situation, but kind of a pain if there is a solution that I have not yet found.

The setting stays set for local users whose "home directory" is on the local hard drive, but not for users whose homes are on a remote volume which is auto-mounted via WGM.

Thanks for your help,

John
