Applications Randomly Opening

Having a problem with Safari, Mail, Search in Finder, Mail and Word all opening in a cascade while working in other programs. Anyone have any ideas what might cause this?

Is it the same with other user accounts? If you don't have any, setup one for testing.
What os are you using?
 
It occured on test acount, using latest updated version of Tiger. Re-installed new system. Problem resolved, but application switcher still opens randomly, particularly with entourage. Any ideas?

What type of mouse and keyboard have you setup? Have you recently installed any new keyboard, mouse or drivers? The only thing I can think of that would bring up application switcher deliberately is pressing Apple-Tab or using the application switcher as a mouse button option in the MS, Logitech or Mighty-Mouse drivers.
