Are there drivers for the Sony Mini Disc players for the Mac?

I am the law!
My little sister got a MD player last year for xmas. She now lives with my dad and is asking me how she can put music on it from my dad's powerbook. It's really too bad, the thing was very expensive, and she could have gotten a 5gb iPod for a similar price [student discount is $269]

The player has a USB cable, which I'm assuming allows high speed transfer as opposed to the record method which is 1x like the old tape dubbing days.

Anybody out there have a MD player and a Mac?

What kind of MD player does your sister have?

If it's a NetMD player - there is no way she can just drag-n-drop tracks into the player like she can under Windows. This is because the software (not just the driver) is Windows only.

However, if she has a regular MD player, she can record from the Mac onto it using a USB-to-Aux or USB-to-Optical cables out there. The bad thing about it is that it record in realtime (90 min of MP3 takes 90 min to record), and there is no compression (90 min of MP3 takes up 90 min of MD). I used to do this and sound quality was great. However, it took way too much time, and I got myself an iPod, so I am in MP3 heaven!

I guess she is going to have to do it the long way, using an 1/8th" to 1/8th" wire from the audio out port on the powerbook.

Then that is why she probably got a MD. I record concerts with mine straight from the soundboard. Got some sweet sounding stuff.
