I am designing ASCii art for my friends on ORKUT using Email Effects X however when I copy and paste into Orkut or MAIL for that matter the characters are changed and my design becomes garbled. Is there a way to fix this ? When I place my designs in the body of my email in MAIL
a note comes up to change my font to Courier or Monaco.
When I do this however and copy and paste from that to ORKUT it goes back to the same garbled Illegible mess. Whats UP with That?

ASCII art can work only with monospaced fonts such as Courier or Monaco. If the default font of ORKUT is not monospaced, then you have to specify a monospaced font in your email. The safest font to use is Courier New because all Windows users have it. Without your definition of garble Illegible mess, this is the best I can do for you.

...When I copy and paste from my Mail box after converting the text to Monaco or Courier and paste into ORKUT it is still unintelligible.
You are saying that using Courier New instead will avert this problem ?
Only one way to find out...right. Thanks again ...I'll let you know the outcome.

When you copy text from one source to another, it doesn't always retain the font and style. It only will if both the source and destination fields support it. I assume ORKUT uses standard web forms, which would not accept styled text, and thus would use the default display font. Just a guess, though, since I've never used ORKUT.

ORKUT has hundreds of thousands Images done in ASCii.....It does support styled text , just don't know why it won't accept it from My MAC.
Most of the 22,million plus user of orkut have ASCii styled texts in their scrapbooks in their profiles, messages and communities.
Don't think that is the problem here at all. Thank You for the effort though and Check out ORKUT its GREAT!
