Need to replace a friend's 12" Powerbook G4's hard drive.

Mactracker lists it as Ultra ATA/100 (ATA-6) I've found many Serial ATA (SATA) drives, but no Ultra ATA's.

Best buy I've found is a WD 250 GB 5400rpm SATA2.

Are they the same, different, & what is SATA2?

PS: Searched with no results.

Can't find at Other World (my preferred supplier) but found this, with good reviews & price, on Amazon:

Samsung Spinpoint M5 HM160HC - Hard drive - 160 GB - internal - 2.5" - ATA-100 - 5400 rpm - buffer: 8 MB

Just want assurance it is the right one.

Great! For reference, though, I went to OWC, clicked Internal Storage, then Laptop HDs, finally 2.5" ATA in the middle.

The new drive works flawlessly. Quiet and noticeably faster. Don't know if it's because of the increase in speed from 4200 to 5400 or the tremendous increase in GB.

Since it isn't MY Powerbook, and since the 12" is a bit*h to work on, the owner took it to an authorized Apple reseller (No Apple store here yet). Price wasn't too bad @ $135 installed including OS (Tiger-had to provide the retail install disk).

All's well and working perfectly.
