Ati Graphics - Mini And Ati Preferences Panel

Do I feel a fool, I have an ATI Preferences panel (not supplied with OS) which allows some control over the graphics.

I inadvertently (read stupidly) used the rotate 90 degrees option.

I now get to the login visibly but once logged in my display cannot handle and the screen remains blank.

How do I recover from this situation?

 
You have to find out where that preference panel saves its settings. I haven't found that out yet. Customer of mine did something similar once. It still worked fine with using a different display, though. We finally had to switch his display with a coworker's to "solve" the problem.
 
Addendum, fixed it. Got in by using shift key in safe mode, reduced the resolution and frame rate to the monitor, rebooted and then rotated back.
