I Have a Macbook Pro & a Macbook both are Intel based, Installed MS Office for Mac 2008 and I have problems with Enterouge and my work email. I keep getting errors 3176 & 3259. I can receive emails NO PROBLEM, but can not send. Also when I use my ATT aircard I can send and receive, with out a problem. I have changed & tried sending using the ATT servers and still does not work. HELP, I've tried everything! I had the same problem with comcast and thought by switching to ATT it would work...I WAS WRONG!!!! PLEASE HELP!!
 
Well a Google search turned up this Microsoft document talking about that error saying server can not be found.

Now are you connecting to a third party server BEYOND your immediate ISP? I ask this because most ISPs block the SMTP port 25 for email servers beyond them (a vain to attempt to stop spammers). You need to have two different Network setups for different connections.

If you are connecting to your work domain go to System Preferences->Network and create a new "Location" (calling it work or something else you want) and then click "Apply". This will separate you home setup to your Work setup.

Now for your work email YOU HAVE TO ASK what SMTP ports your work allows beyond a third party ISP (besides port 25). Then if you connected to your work are you connecting to a Windows Domain? Lastly take a look at this AT&T email server setup.
