Basically is there a way to get a file to open on opening a certain application?
EG. When i open Safari, an mp3 file on my desktop is played (not in safari)
Ive looked at Automator but that wont work for me.

By double-clicking on a file, you launch its default application. You are the first person whom I have ever seen who wants this process to work in reverse.
There is no need to reverse standard practice unless you want to open your special MP3 in a separate application.
What im after is say when i open a Video game its no cd image is mounted automatically. At the moment i have to mount the no cd image before i open the game.
Is there a way so that when i open the game the no cd image is automatically opened by disk utility?
