Automatically switch between SMTP servers ?

I have a home email account (cable service) and a work email account, which I use primarily.

Using Apple Mail, I have a problem in that

1. when connected wirelessly to the network, I cannot use my work smtp server

2. when VPN'd into work wirelessly, I cannot use my ISP's smtp server
NOR my work smtp... I think I could probably use another smtp (hotpop or something like that, if I tried)

In any case, what I'm wondering is... is there some way to tell Apple Mail, to please go ahead and use any smtp server you can find ??? without showing me that "cannot connect, please pick another server" message ???

If not, can any other OS X email client offer this functionality ? because if so, I am *there* !!

You could think about using the "Change SMTP server" that comes with Mail Scripts or LocationSwitch , an Automator action.

They might provide what you are looking for.
