Backing Up in OSX 10.3.9

Hi. I've been using the free Iomega Automatic Backup program that came with my external HD, and I'm wondering if there's another free program out there that's a little more stable?

Also, would someone please give me a list of the system folders that are critical for a backup? Right now I back up my entire Home folder and my System folder. Am I missing anything key?

Carbon Copy Cloner & SuperDuper
Both work very well at keeping backups. And as for what to backup, use either of these programs to back everything up. They'll even make the backup drive bootable incase the unspeakable should happen to your main drive.
 
thanks. Actually, the unspeakable already happened a month ago, which prompted this issue. I'd backed everything up (thankfully), but in a piecemeal way. I'll check out these programs.
