Backing up too much data?

I use Backup to copy my most important data to my iDisk folder and I also use iSync to synch my bookmarks, address book and calendars.

Do I need to backup up my address book using Backup if I'm iSync-ing it too? Isn't that just doubling up the data and wasting space on my iDisk?

Also, does the same apply if I'm iSync-ing my iCal data - do I really to backup them up too?

Yes, you are wasting space on your iDisk by backing up twice to the same location. Double backups are good, but only if they are on separate drives.
