I've been holding another discussion in a different post as to how to get out of X into 9... I've tried EVERYTHING, believe me.
I now know (I think) how to solve the problem...
I can finally put a 9 CD in my iBook.. it won't show up if I hold option on boot for some reason, but I can change nvram to look for a system folderon the CD instead of X... right?
So, can someone put a Mac OS 9 CD in their hard drive, goto Sys Preferences->Startup Disk, select the CD and then in the terminal do...
/usr/sbin/nvram -p > settings
Then tell me the information in settings?
Even if you don't have an iBook.. I don't *THINK* that would upset the boot-device setting for a CD...
