battery percent

This kind of goes with what xarcom said, but when the battery is fully charged, is supposed to only show 99%, or is it supposed to show 100%? My PB 15" shows 99%, when it is on my account.

Thanx

Are you using 10.3? My iBook has taken a liking to hanging at 99% for quite some time before it jumps up to 100%. It's probably mostly a cosmetic flaw.

Actually, Panther does this better than Jaguar did. When the battery went from 100 to 99 in Jaguar, it immediately activated the charger to bring it back to 100. This way, if the charger was always plugged the battery was frequently uncharged an recharged a little bit. In Panther, the battery is allowed to go down to 97 or 96 before the charger is activated which results in less recharge cycles if the charger is always plugged. This is assumed (or proved?) to extend battery life.

No, in 10.2 the batttery had to o town to 95 % before it recharged. In iBook, which I never put to sleep, going from 100 % to 95 % (or recharge) it took normally 2-3 days. With Powerbook in 10.3, the 100 % charge stays a few hours, then the charge goes to 99 % for 2-3 days, so I guess making it go down to 95 % and recharge will take approximately a week. With the same kind of use.

Ok, thank you for clarification. Then my observations are wrong or I drew the wrong conclusions :)
