I want to know what is hands down the BEST ftp client out there for the OS X. There are so many out there that it's hard to decide. Also please list ones which have multi part transfers as I will be uploading most of the time. Thanks in Advance.

It's always risky to suggest a "best" program for anything. As soon as anyone does a ton of other people pile on giving reasons for the one they use to be "best".

That said, I've owned Interarchy for years. It's rock solid and it just works. I recently bought Transmit because it supports WebDAV which I use often. Now I mostly find myself using Transmit and it seems very solid also both in ftp and WebDAV.

Yeah, it's a matter of interface preference, really. FTP isn't the most complicated process, and there are many many solutions. Try a few, and decide what you like best.

Personally, i still use the FTP client in GoLive. It's kinda like driving your car to the mailbox.

The ftp client in GoLive is very good, better than lots of others. You can use it as a stand alone client or integrated into the web design process.

Transmit is my preferred (actually-the only one installed too) FTP program. On a side note, you should do a search through the forums first next time...this topic has been covered multiple times in the past.

Transmit is an awesome FTP client. However, Transmit is not free. If you need Kerberos Capability, you'll have to get Fetch. Lately, my favorite has been Cyberduck: http://cyberduck.ch. Not only is it Open-Source and free, it's also a STFP client as well as FTP client and supports Growl notifications - http://growl.info.

Quack!

Thanks guys for the help.......ive also herd cuteftp is pretty good as its pro version has multi part transfer facility......how does this compare with the competition???
