Best Maintenance Tool?

Hello.

I am relatively new to MACs and I would like to know your opinions on what 'maintenance tool' is best for cleaning up my hard-drive?

I know that OSX already has some repair & optimisation tools 'built-in', but I was wondering if there are some complete solutions out there that can be used to help search for ophaned items (files left behind after uninstalling demos etc.)?

I already use programs like ONYX which seems to do a good job of automating the maintenance scripts etc., but is there another tool anyone can recommend?

Hi nreyes and welcome to the forum.
I can not recommend anything else but I can dissuade you from using any disc related norton product. The experience taught us, that they tend to rather mess than fix anything.
 
in Applications / Utilities there is Disk Utility. That is a good one, sometimes you can run it from the installation CDs too to fix issues.

An external program I'd suggest is Diskwarrior. No Nortons...
