I could really use some help as I have found that my desktop is blank after a few technical problems today. I was originally trying to install messenger, and then for some reason found my way into filevault, which I activated then when it had finished I found a blank desktop and all the files had disappeared and history had wiped from firefox,

de encrypted files for filevault and got lost as a folder came up titled volumes which had a lot of files in that had no access sign, after sharing folders, adding accounts etc, I found the history for firefox has restored however I have since lost all the files that were on the desktop, I have managed to access one through a trace, however it is titled Users/.de...blah blah, and I am not able to access this folder to restore all of the elements that there should be, can anyone help///////?????????
