Blue&White not working...

I have a blue&white G3 400 mhz. with 194 mb of ram and 6 gig hard drive. I can't get the installation to work.. this is what happens: When I double click install MacOSX It says 'could not bless the system folder..." and then restarts.. Then I get a blinking question mark folder for a couple of seconds, and then it starts back up in macos9. Holding down C when restarting does the same thing. What could this be??

this is the exact error message:

Could not bless the selected system folder.
The startup disk was set, but the selected
system may not boot.
Error -44

any ideas?

hows about a lucky stab in the dark. Create a clean system folder: Heres how:

Start up your computer using the MAC OS 9 (yes the mac os 9) cd. Open the mac os 9 installer window. Click the perform clean intallation checkbok to select it. Click OK. Follow the onscreen instructions.
********%%%%%%IMPOTANT%%%%%%********* This will renove any custom fonts and removes any systyem preferences, and I hope that this works. Good luck
