Boot Problems With Powerbook G4

Hello,

If I boot my Powerbook on battery, I have a system crash and the grey msg, with a kind request to restart the machine appears.
(Batteries are OK)

Booting with AC-power works well, but as soon as I unplug, machine from AC-power , the system crashes.

PRAM already reseted.

a lot of kernel panics appear in the report, but it does not give me
a clear hint to the problem.

thanks for any suggestions

try running the hardware test found on the OS install cd/dvd. Hold down option key as you start up and select hardware test. May give you some more info (or at least tell you if it is a hardware problem or not).

Thanks,
Tried also with TechTools and found out that memory caused power mgmt
troubles. Seemed that I bought the 2*1GB memory for new Powerbook G4
(>April 2004) and not the ones supposed for PBs produced before April 2004.
