ok guys i have a power book g4 i want to put tiger on it how ever the dmg files i have every time i try and install it the machine just restarts nothing else happens... where am i going wrong i dont wanna go buy another tiger just in case its not gonna work and it will be a waste of money

There are no exceptions for people who purchased Macs on eBay. You will need to acquire a legitimate copy of MacOS X 10.4 or MacOS X 10.5.
Could you contact the eBay seller and ask if they can find you the copy that Mac was shipped with?
I know it's a bit later than it should be for this case, but when buying a second hand Mac (or even peecee), ALWAYS ask for the installation discs the system shipped with, and the OS discs if it has a later OS than what it was shipped with.
What OS does that system have now? If it's already 10.4, would it be an option for you to create a new admin user and then delete the current users so you could get as clean a table for it as you can with the current system?

Well going by what other power books are it should be panther but I been given tiger, everytime I try and install it it just comes up with restart system?????? I really need to know if this is a fault or just my doing I don't fancy paying out any more untill I know it's working ok that's all, these are the discs that came with it it also come with mac book discs??????
