i use a g4 powerbook (2003/4), 15" (powerbook 5,2) with a 1.25 Ghz processor and 768 MB ram, boot-rom v. 4.7.1f4.,
there`s a 10.5.6 on the main partition and a 10.4 on a second, smaller one. because a change in my life i`m not longer able to get my original 10.5.6 dvd`s back. tried to copy the system folder from leopard to tiger. system identified two bootvolumes each with 10.5.6 on it.
no problems with the original one. the "tipard" comes up with "panic - crashing now" "missing drivers for powerbook 5,2"

question: how to fix this problem? thanx!

You can't just copy the system folder from your 10.5.6 install to your 10.4 install and expect everything to work correctly. UNIX (ahem, Mac OS X) is picky about what files go where, what permissions those files have, and what attributes are set. When you do a standard drag-and-drop copy, a lot of this information is either lost or is incorrect. Since your system folder contains tens of thousands of files, it is infeasible to expect to be able to sort through them and "fix" what you've done.

Now, it seems, you will be unable to reverse this procedure, too, without access to your original 10.4 install CDs/DVDs.

You have pretty much hosed your 10.4 partition. Back up the data you need from that partition, erase it, and reinstall from the original install/restore CDs/DVDs.
