i'm a mac and osx newb so forgive me....

I'm using a program called metax and I was prompted to accept an update. The update was downloaded and then I was asked to quit and restart the application so the update could be completed. The program will not start either from the dock or the apps folder. I tried to delete everything and re-download the dmg to reinstall. Nothing works. The application will bounce once in the dock after I double click then nothing happens. I've checked activity monitor and the program does not show up.
