Hi,
The other day I got into work, sat down, strecthed my arms out and then brought one elbow down straight onto the open tray of the DVD drive in my (work's) G5. I'm surprised the tray didn't snap off completely with the force of my falling arm! Now the tray only goes in about an inch and I can't push it in any further, even with a fair bit of force. I can see that when the tray tries to go in, the little spindle that the cd sits on when its spinning moves up and blocks the path of the tray. Is the drive competely ruined or can this be fixed? Also, if it is ruined, is replacing a dvd drive a difficult job?
Thanks!
dave
