Broken Folder Icon At Startup

Is there anything I can do to fix this problem other than reloading OSX? I have zapped the PRAM and re-selected the OSX startup folder allready, with no results. Thanks!
 
just to clarify a little... do you get the flashing missing system folder icon and then it continues to boot? or do you have to start up off a different media?
 
There's something broken in your installation...I'd suggest you reformat, partition and then install OS X and OS 9 on separate partitions...and prolly another OS 9 to act as classic. By doing this, you'd still be able to boot into OS 9 if something goes wrong in OS X...
