So I've had this problem for several months, with no fix apparent on Google or Apple forums. My browsers, whether I'm using Safari or Firefox, will lock up and give me the spinning color wheel - a complete system freeze - for about 15-30 seconds, then everything returns back to normal. This happens WAY more in Safari, but still happens every once in a while in Firefox. I have SL 10.6 on a 13in 4gb 2.53ghz MBP, all latest versions of Flash, Java (1.6.0_15), Firefox, and Safari... with no looming Apple Software Updates. I contacted Apple Support once about this problem and they had me clear my startup items (which at the time was only my VirtualBox software by Sun Microsystems).
Have you heard of this issue? - It's all over the Apple support forums... but I cannot find a reasonable solution. Thanks for the help / ideas!
