Browsers slow down drastically

You recently helped me get my ibook working using wireless in a mixed mac/windows network - thanks again.

I now have a rather annoying problem that appears to affect
Safari, Firefox, and Opera (all latest versions).

Each browser, when first started, appears to work well but then over time (not that long) the browser gets slower and slower until it becomes unbearable. Without rebooting I can move to another browser and things speed up again. When the whole process repeats.

I have noticed that downloads can also 'timeout' sometimes, but not all the time.

Before we got the airport working we were on ethernet and didn't appear to have this problem.

Can you advise me please?

Are you following sites with Javascripts or similar? It might be that some
of them is running wild. Try to view the sites Javascript disabled.
