burn VCD with data content

I have 8 x 40sec quicktime movies that I would like to burn on CD. It should be a movie CD such as SVCD or VCD including some data. My Aim: want those 8 movies to be playable on any DVD/VCD-player for tvs but also contain those quicktime movies for ppl who have a pc.
I have toast 6 as well, but I didn't succeed..

tnx!

Zammy, I've been attempting to do something similar, also with no luck. I don't know if any of this will help as I haven't tried it out myself but hopefully I can point you in a direction.

This is the app I've been trying to work with. You've got yourself Toast so this may not be any help for ya.

This is a little app from a project that is now dead in the water, but it looks like it will assist you in created VCD compatable .bin data files out of mpegs. Again, I haven't tried it but...

Apparantly VCD's require two files: a Table of Contents file that ends with a *.TOC or *.CUE extension, the other is the data file ending with *.BIN For this reason I don't know if you'll be able to make the "hybrid" cd-rom your looking for (something that will play in DVD players AND as QuickTime movies) but I may be wrong. Hopefully someone with better knowledge of videos will chime in, because I really don't know squat.

Anyways, good luck to ya. Let me know if and how it turns out.

thanks for your reply, themacko!
Exactly today morning I got an idea I will try out when I am back home ;)
I thought of creating an imagefile of a VCD generated by toast. Then I will simply copy the files from that image into a folder and just add another folder where I would copy all my movies. Finally I will burn a Data CD. What do you think? Sounds promising, huh?

Again, thanks for your reply and your links. Will post my results
