burning a disk image?

Barking at the moon.
I just downloaded the 10.1 DevTools file, I heard that it is a disk image and I was gonna try to burn it onto a CD-R for a friend, but I'm not quite sure how.

I have Toast 5.1P2 (which works fine) but I selected Other > Disk Image and tried to drag the OS_X_10.1_DevTools_10_1.dmg file onto Toast and it told me it was not a valid disk image file. Any ideas of what I should do?

Open up Disc Copy and select Burn Image from the Image menu, it will ask you to locate the .dmg file, once you have selected the file it will ask for a blank CD-R. Pop one in and twenty minutes later or so you should have a clean copy of the Dev Tools on disk. Did this exact procedure last night.

By the way, it took me about an hour to figure this out as well after trying Toast under X, Toast under 9 and Disk Copy 6.5b11 under 9.

It did not occur to me that good ole Disk Copy on X would do the trick until after several reboots.

:D
