Burning CD-RW problems

Greetings All,
I am discovering that my eMac doesn't seem to do a reliable job of burning rewritable media like CD-RW or DVD-RW disks. Yet it does a good job of burning regular DVD-Rs and CD-Rs. Is this a common problem? Is it the fault of the disk drive burner, or are rewritable media simply unreliable, and should I then simply rely on one-time only CD-Rs and DVD-Rs? I have been using LiquidCD for burning DVD-RW disks, and have not had any problem with it.

Does this mean that the eMac's resident burning software is not reliable, or is the problem using less expensive CDs?

I have found that some CDs just work that well, like Memorex for one, they are hit and miss. For CD's I use HP and for DVDs the only ones that work every time for me is Verbatim, they are higher quality.
