Burning CDs - Adding Files creates a Short-Cut

I'm trying to burn a CD backup of an internet site. Now when I go to place the folder or any file onto the CD I get a shortcut to the folder. How can I burn a CD with the actual folder?

The first time I saw that I panicked, but eventually gave up and burned the CD anyway. To my surprise and great pleasure the actual folder and all of its contents were on the burned CD.
