burning cds

I'm not a complete moron, I know how to burn cds.. but for some reason it's just not working for me right now. I insert the disk, click initialize, and put the stuff onto the disk that I want to burn, then go to 'burn cd', and after it's finished initializing, it spits it out and says an error of type 6 occurred. I've burnt tons of cds before but suddenly it's not letting me anymore and I'm about to rip my hair out. Why is this not working!?
 
Try deleting the Disc burner preferences in user/library/preferences and library/preferences if they exits. They will be titled something like com.apple.discburner.plist (Remeber-the USER library-not the HD library)
