Hi
I have a 2 GHZ iMac G5 with a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K04L.
I want to back up my DV tapes to DVD, so using iMovie I've created a project then imported the tape letting iMovie detect scene brakes. Once this is complete I selected the package file in finder and control clicked and selected "show package contents". In the media folder there are about 12 GB of DV clips so I decided to archive using a couple of Double Layer DVDs.
I put a TDK Double Layer DVD +R disk into my super drive and accepted the option to open it in the Finder and then dragged approximately 8 GB of the DV clips into the Burn folder. My first attempt went off without a hitch, however I have now unsuccessfully attempted to burn the remaining 4.6 GB of files to a second Double Layer DVD +R disk 5 times.
I'm thinking it's unlikely that all five of those Double Layer DVD +R's were faulty. Is there a definitive way to check the Pioneer Drive or should I be using a different program?
