burning DVD's on my PowerBook G4

I've tried two different kinds of DVDs to burn my photos from iphoto onto... first I tried TDK DVD +R 16x and it simply ejected the DVD without any explaination... ok, so maybe my Mac isn't new enough to handle +R...

Then I tried hp dvd-r 16x and it said "The device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media." I can burn other things to this media like songs etc..

So what do I need to do or get to burn photos from iphoto onto DVD?

Depending on the age of that superdrive, you may not be able to
burn anything with a higher X-ness than it's rated for.

Get the manufacturer and model number from System Profiler, then
go to videohelp.com (DVD Writer tab) and enter the info. It'll tell you
what it works with.

And yup. +R is recommended only for DL discs.
