Buying more memory

I have a 17" flat panel iMac which is currently running on 256Mb of PC2700 DDR333 RAM.

I'm looking to add an extra 512Mb and have found what I need on the Apple store for £160 and also at SMC Direct (Kingston part number KTA-PBG4333/512) for £90.

Obviously I'd much rather buy the cheaper memory, but will it be fully compatible with my Mac? A colleague has tried to convince me to buy direct from Apple to avoid problems, but do I really need to?

Kingston is a fine brand. If it was some sort of noname, I would have said to leave it.
So, pick the cheaper one.
