Say which one you prefer and give the reason of that decision. ;)

Both are good, and I use both regularly, but Safari is my primary browser.

My two biggest problems with Firefox are its poor scrolling responsiveness (especially from the keyboard) and its generally flimsy interface.

The great thing about Firefox is that it's basically the same on all platforms. The bad thing about Firefox is that it's basically the same on all platforms. I like my Mac apps to behave like Mac apps, not like Linux apps or Windows apps.

I've already ranted a lot about Firefox's shortcomings on this forum. See http://www.macosx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270880&page=4 for starters.

Although it's not as elegant as the other more Mac-like applications, I prefer Firefox because of the consistency of the UI. Also, the Extensions feature is something I can't do without. Camino is nice since it's very much like Safari function-wise but uses Gecko as the engine like Firefox and Mozilla. However, there are things that Camino can't do that Firefox excels in. So my browser of choice no matter what the operating system is Firefox.

I need the shortcut to get to previous and to next tab. Firefox lacks it.
Safari is ok but Shiira has more controls, so taking all teh good parts of shiira / safari / camino / firefox and combine them without bugs would do what i need.

In Firefox, command-option-left/right arrow will go to the previous/next tab. But I prefer Safari in this regard, too, because I can easily customize the shortcut. Safari uses a standard menu shortcut, and in OS X you can customize any menu item's shortcut in System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts. I have my previous/next tab shortcuts set as command-option-1 and command-option-2, so I can use them with just one hand.

I have a hunch you can customize this in Firefox, too, but I've looked and looked and I can't figure out how. Does anyone know if this is possible? That's another problem I have with Firefox: half its features are hidden!

This was the one feature that I missed when going from Safari to Firefox. Now there is absolutely no reason for me to use any other broswser. I am also addictated to 2 particular FireFox extensions (DownloadThemAll & post to del.icio.us).

I use Safari as a default, but Firefox works on some sites that Safari finds difficult. I also need Firefox for Yahoo Mail.
