Hi, I work on a computer that has limited user rights - it is run off of a network and when there are network issues - the computer stops working. I want to create a separate startup disk on an external drive which will give me the option to continue working in the event of a network failure - unfortuntely, the administrator has locked the startup disk and DVD boot/install so the computer will not allow me to install from the OSX DVD. Is there a way to access the console on startup - then select bootup from the DVD or another startup disk - effectively bypassing the administer lock-down?
