Ok, so I started dong CAD drawings last week as part of my engineering course, I was using AutoCad 2005 on a windows machine.... I want to do these drawings in the comfort of my own flat so I dont have to walk the 20mins to get to the CAD lab, through the howling wind and blisstering rain you get with the weather here in Ireland :),... So what are my options, I downloaded and messed about with a demo of cadintosh but, it doesnt have any support for entering the commands manually using a command prompt like in AutoCad....Any other god programs out there? also I think I need to export it in .dwg format so my Lecturer can open it on his pc.

Also if theres anybody out there whos like a 'genius' with CAD(or at least knows more than me), and wouldn't mind me contacting them if i get stuck with a drawing your iChat/msn/icq/email would be very much appreciated :D

Thanks
I brought the names of the programmes down to the head if IT in my school, he says he thinks they have a license for Vector Works, so I could instal and run it for free (as in their License would cover me) as long as im a student in the university... pretty cool as the programme costs like 300 quid... so hopefully will have it tomorrow... does it have a command based input option? I find it a lot quicker and easier to be accurate in autocad by typing the co-ordinates in...
