camera flash problem

This afternoon I was snapping some photos with my iPhone 5 here in the house requiring flash. Problem is, when I pressed the shutter button the flash would flash then the the shutter would snap. As a result I got 3 photos that were completely too dark and unusable.

Not sure why the flash and shutter are not in sync and also not sure how to correct the problem. I've not done a reset of the iPhone yet. That's my next step.

Any ideas?

Ok, I just completed a reset of the iPhone and that fixed the problem. However, I still have no idea what caused the problem in the first place.

If anybody knows anything about this issue I'd appreciate anything you can share.
