camera in use by another application ichat

Hi ... I'm getting this message when I attach my sony dcr-hc19e trying to use ichatav ... anyone got any ideas please ... I've restarted, updated unplugged and plugged ... all of the normal things ... many thanks ... Roger
 
Sorry to bump an ancient thread, but I had this problem too, and the solution is to download the latest version of iChatUSBcam (see the top Known Issue here).

Just thought I'd mention it as no one ever posted a solution.
 
Yep I had this issue once. All i did to fix it was unplug all USB/Firewire (except mouse and keyboard) and then Reset the Pram (letting the "bong" happen three times).
