Can I find out when an application was used last?

I use an iMac with Mac OSX. I need to find out if someone used my computer last night. Is there something I can view with a schedule (with dates and times) of when applications were opened?

You can view the system logs using the "Console" application.

You may want to look at the end of the "system.log" file -- while launching an application may or may not generate a log entry, you can look at the dates and times of any activity that generates a log message (error messages, informational messages, etc.).

You can cut and paste log entries here, and we can try and decipher them for you. Beware: just because something in the log says "error" or "illegal operation" or something along those lines doesn't mean anything's wrong with your system, so don't read too much into the logs or assess the health of your system by the verbage of the logs.
 
Hi, and thanks for your help.

I looked at the log in Console. It looks like there is near-constant activity there, regardless of whether or not someone is on the computer, is that right? I will cut and paste the section I'm interested in. I just want to know what applications were used, if any, during that time. But it doesn't look like that info is here. I appreciate your help.
