Hi All,

I am new to the Mac world. I was given a Mac clone Power Computing 180 with OS 8.6 loaded on it, but since my dialup internet provider does not support this OS I want to try and load a copy of OS 9.2.1 on this system.

When I try to load from the disc I get this error message:
This program cannot run on your computer.
See the documentation for more information.

The documentation is not specific about this error.

Here is what I have:
Power PC 604e 195mhz
64mb memory
2 gig hard drive

I realize that this system is old, but I am trying to learn the Mac system for work. I would just go buy one if I could afford it, but for now I am trying it with this old system. I would really appreciate it if I could have some help. Thanks, Mark

yes, os 9 helper is great. used it on my 7500 which had similar specs. but in order for it to work, you have to have os 9.1 installed, and the 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 updaters on the hard drive so that helper can patch them. its some work, but i think its well worth it.
