Can I use a Wireless USB Adapter on an external hard drive?

I bought an external hard drive. I currently have about 30 gigs of media on the Powerbook and wanted to put it all on the external drive but don't like the idea of always having hook up to pull stuff off.

The Hard Drive is a Lacie USB 2.0 hard drive. Is there any reason i couldn't simply buy a USB Bluetooth or 802.11 wirless adapter and do the connection that way?

Your Lacie USB 2.0 drive will need a system to mount and share it to the network. Thus you will need a computer to deal with this. You could easily get yourself a cheap pc and use it as a file server (this is how I am doing it).

Thanks for the quick reply.

Anyone use that Buffalo 250 gig wireless server thingamajiggy? It's kind of ridiculously expensive. But I think that's what I want to exchange this for.

I think I'm going to buy the Linksys Network Storage Link. This looks like my answer. Also it will allow me to access the hard disk from anywhere else on the internet.

great looking piece of hardware - I want one! ;)

Please give us a review when you try it out.
